Quiet squares, historic streets and a walk to Castell d’Alaró.
Stroll through the village
Alaró retains the pace of a traditional inland Mallorcan village. Begin in Plaça de la Vila, see the church of Sant Bartomeu and explore the surrounding streets lined with stone houses, small shops and cafés. It is a lovely way to discover a quieter side of the island.
Walk to Castell d’Alaró
The area’s best-known outing leads to Castell d’Alaró, an old hilltop fortress with wide views. The final approach is on foot along mountain paths. Wear suitable shoes, bring water and allow plenty of time. Check the weather and trail conditions before leaving.
Plan your visit
Spend a morning exploring the centre, or set aside more time if you want to combine the village with the castle walk. For an easier day, enjoy the square, backstreets and local businesses at your own pace.
Practical tip
Expect rocky stretches and sunny sections on the mountain. You cannot assume the fortress itself is accessible by car; stay on marked routes.
